Scots Quicks Continue To Rise Through The Ranks

Scots College 1st XI Bowlers Henry Thornton and Ryan O’Beirne have both recently received news from Cricket NSW that they have been awarded places in representative squads.

Current Year 12 Student, Ryan O’Beirne has been awarded a spot in the Sydney Sixers Academy Squad for the upcoming season.

This program, now in its 4th season, is designed to improve a player’s T20 skills as a pathway to the BBL.

The program will consist of a number of training sessions and a round robin tournament against the Sydney Thunder, Hobart Hurricanes and the Lahore Qalandars Rising Stars from the Pakistan Super League.

Former Scots College Fast Bowler Henry Thornton has been awarded a full NSW Blues contract after a successful season as a Cricket NSW Rookie in 2016/17. Henry has recently returned from a successful stint in India with the MRF Academy. Last season, Henry made his debut for the Sydney Sixers against the Brisbane Heat in the BBL competition. Henry has once again signed with the Sydney Sixers and is hopeful to play a number of games in BBL 07.

We wish both the players all the best for the upcoming season.
