Athletics NSW Champions

The Athletics team competed at the New South Wales Relays Championship this weekend. The club, now in it’s second full year of participation with Athletics New South Wales managed to punch well above it’s weight in this prestigious competition against the biggest Athletics clubs in New South Wales.

The Scots opens team took on the rest of the state winning the 4×100m relay, 4×400m relay and winning the silver medal in the 4×200m relay. This early season success is a strong indication of the not only the talent of this group of boys but their dedication to hard work and training as a team. This team of boys were the standout of the weekend and the class of the field in their age division.

The intermediate distance runners were impressive as well managing a strong fourth place in a competitive 4×1500m race. The team of Ryan Lui, Hayden Fleming, Jack Freer and Madision Weekes all ran sub five minute races. This group of boys are showing the discipline in training and teamwork required to go after a GPS Championship in Cross Country next year.

I would like to thank all of the parents who drove their boys to Homebush at various times throughout the weekend and cheered our team on. Congratulations team on an outstanding performance.
