Kanga Cup 2014

Scots Football flexes muscles

Our 4th consecutive year of competing in the Kanga Cup in frosty Canberra in the biggest Football tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.

A record total of 275 teams entered for the 24th year of the competition. 32 boys from Year 7 & 8, found the competition difficult in the cup this year with the level of skill proving a difficult challenge but improved results during the week, resulted in wins for both teams on the last day.

In the Year 7 team , coached by Louis Chaperon, for the third year in succession, Elliot Wong won the managers award, Jack Attenborough won the players player award and Will Foster scored the best goal of the tournament.

Ethan Hillier and Zac Elphick were both excellent throughout the week. Special note ; Jack Attenborough and Zac Elphick played for the Year 8 team in the final game and were outstanding.

In the Year 8 team , coached by James Page, Ted Ferguson won the managers award, he scored 5 goals, closely followed by Milan Dosen. Andrew Taylor was a very popular winner of the players player, with Luke Menzel being the most improved.
A fun packed tour once again which will benefit all the boys once the GPS season begins.

Many thanks to coaches, parents and boys for all their positive support.

Daniel Blazevski and Charlie Peters , Year 9 boys , were runners up in the Kanga Cup under 15 final.

Well done to both boys.
