The Scots Prep qualified a team of eleven Cross Country Athletes to compete at the annual CIS Primary Cross Country Championships held at Eastern Creek on June 12, 2014. Since the IPSHA Championships in April, the boys have been training hard on Monday and Wednesday mornings slogging it out as the morning temperatures get colder. Cross country, being an individual sport, has quickly evolved within the prep to becoming strongly team focused.
The 8/9 years boys competed in the 2,000m course against a strong field of 92 athletes. Harrison Karabolios lead the way with a strong run to finish 2nd followed by his team mates Alexander De Oliveira (28th), Callum Maxwell (31st), Zachary Brownjohn (37th) and Madden Williams (52nd) with the boys finishing 2nd overall in the team event!
Four Scots boys competed in the 10 year boys 2,000m course, with another strong field of 88 athletes. The 10 years boys also finished 2nd overall in the team event with Jonathan Ryan (22nd), Charlie Moore (23rd), James Kotis (38th) and Winston Kloster (44th).
Congratulations to all boys who competed at the CIS Championships and trained hard throughout the season.
Special congratulations goes to Harrison Karabolis (2nd) and Benjamin Shortt (3rd), who qualified for the NSWPSSA State Championships to be held on July 18, 2014.
