Scots Rugby vs Kings Report

The inaugural two-round AAGPS Rugby competition began on Saturday, with Scots hosting The King’s School.

The Scots Rugby program made an immediate impression, emerging unbeaten on the Main Oval with the U16A, 5thXV, 4thXV, 3rdXV, 2ndXV and 1stXV all recording victories. Indeed, we recorded 21 wins out of 29 games played against The Kings School.

The 1stXV got off to a rusty start, with poor decision making and uncharacteristic handling errors. The team found its rhythm late in the first half and pushed ahead, scoring 50 points to Kings’ 14.

In the prep, the Firsts beat Shore 28-5, with U11A, U10A, and U9A all victorious. A notable highlight for the prep was the Under 9 B Tartans recording their first win of the season, beating Kings 35 – 30.

Both schools demonstrated great spirit on the day throughout all grades. Kings will be a formidable opponent in the second round of competition.

The senior school face Shore in Round 2 of the GPS on Saturday 15th June.
