With 3 wins from 3 matches, the Scots 1st X1 head into the Christmas break on top of the GPS table.
For the final weekend of cricket in Term 4, Scots took on the tough Joeys team. The previous week, Scots had posted the competitive total of 224 thanks in large part to James Manns (68) and Ollie Mills (53 not out).
Scots took to the field with Joeys at 2/53 from the previous week. The Scots pace attack bowled extremely well as a group, and were well supported by the spin of Gavin Ho, with all bowlers hunting as a pack. All bowlers were patient and worked very hard in the extremely hot conditions. Just before tea, Scots took the final Joeys wicket with the score at 150.
All boys should be extremely proud of their efforts, not only in the trying conditions on Saturday, but in their dedication and hard work since the end of Winter Sports season. The season has a long way to got, but it has been a great start, and with continued hard work, Scots Cricket will hopefully continue to experience the same level of success in 2013.
I wish all parents and boys a Merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous new year.
