Scots Athletics NSW Representatives

Tim Spehr

Three runners from the Scots College Athletics Team have qualified to represent New South Wales and the Australian All Schools Championships this weekend in Hobart.

All three athletes had outstanding performances at the New South Wales Championships running strong personal bests.

Year 7 Billy Ryan had outstanding performances on his way to winning the NSW Championship and setting personal bests in both the 800m (2.07) and 1500m (4.27). Billy’s 1500m performance also qualifies as the new Scots College school record.

Year 9 Matthew Scott had strong performances finishing second in the 1500m(4.08) setting a new Scots College athletics record and 3rd in the 3000m(9:15). Matthew recently had a breakthrough performance in the 3000m looking ready for the national championship with a time of 8:55 at the New South Wales 3000m championship.

Year 12 Timothy Spehr continued with his fine form found in the second half of the cross country season running very close to a personal best time in the 3000m on his way to winning the New South Wales Championship.

I would like to congratulate all three boys on representing the Scots College with such fine performance and wish them the best of luck in Hobart.
