Jack Maddocks has continued on with his great run of form, scoring another century in round 2 of the GPS 1st X1 competition. His 102 against Shore on the weekend, followed up from his 147 not out against Kings the week before.
The Scots 1st X1 team was sent into bat by Shore on a green wicket, that would be difficult to play on against a good Shore bowling line up. Showing great levels of concentration and determination, the Scots 1st X1 posted the impressive total of 9 declared for 256, thanks in large part to Jacks’ 100, but also with solid contributions from Ollie Mills (68 not out) and Nick Kellaway (25).
Scots sent the Shore team into bat and were able to take 3 early wickets (Tom Skelly 2/18, Nick Kellaway 1/14), ending the day in a strong position with Shore on 3/41.
The 2nd X1 are also on top against Shore after bowling out the Shore team for 153 and finishing the day at 2/108 (Nick Powys 49 not out).
Jack Maddocks was not the only century maker on the weekend. Ben Starkey (5th X1) and Liam Michael (104 not out) joined the 4 other Scots century makers this season. With the year being only 3 games old, this is a great achievement for the Scots Cricket Program.
