Scots Cricket Starts GPS Season In Style

Year 10 student, Jack Maddocks starred with the bat in the 1st X1 clash with Kings on the weekend, scoring an unbeaten 147 not out. Jack faced the 1st and the last ball of the Scots innings in a superb display of batting. Jack was central to the team posting an impressive total of 5/238 off their designated 50 overs. He was well supported by Kurt Atkinson, his fellow opening bat, who scored 40 himself.

Thomas Griffin, a year 7 student, also had a memorable weekend taking a hatrick in his 14A’s game. What was even more impressive was the fact that these were the only three balls that Thomas bowled, giving him the figures of 0.3 overs, 3/0! Thomas’ efforts were an integral part in the 14A’s victory on the weekend.

The 5th X1 also continued on their winning way, comprehensively defeating The Kings school in their T20 match.

Apart from Jack and Thomas, other noteable individual performances for the weekend included:

• Austin Irwin 53 (15B)
• Angus McGrath – 49 (14A)
• Kurt Atkinson – 40 (1st X1)

Good luck to all players in GPS round two matches v Shore this weekend.
