Premiership player, Isaac Humphries recently returned from the U16 National Basketball Championships hosted in Tamworth, New South Wales. Isaac was selected to represent the NSW Metro U16 team, an outstanding achievement as a bottom age athlete.
Although Isaac has competed against established U18 NSW & National level athletes in the AAGPS competition, this was Isaac’s first experience at a National Championships. Although his team didn’t compete in the medal fixtures, Isaac’s statistics throughout the week were nothing short of outstanding.
Isaac finished with a total of 110 points, averaging 13.8 points per game. This placed Isaac as the seventh highest scorer at the National Championships. Isaac also collected 87 rebounds for the week, at 10.9 rebounds per game, placing Isaac third on the rebounding list. Isaac was the number one shot blocker at the tournament with 23 blocks at 2.9 blocks per game.
Isaac will be extremely motivated to continue to build on his skill sets, whilst pressing on with his strength & conditioning program for higher honour selections in 2013.
